My Friends in Christ,

Over the weekend some severe storms affected much of Wisconsin. There was significant storm damage in Door County and serious flooding in the Milwaukee area. We thank God that there have been no reports of death or serious injuries reported as a result. But many in the affected communities, including members of our congregations, have experienced flooding in their homes and other property damage.

I encourage members of the Diocese of Wisconsin to keep those affected by these storms and first responders and utility workers who continue to assist in the recovery.

God is our refuge and strength,

a very present help in trouble.

Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth be moved,

and though the mountains be toppled into the depths of the sea;

Though its waters rage and foam,

and though the mountains tremble at its tumult.

The LORD of hosts is with us;

the God of Jacob is our stronghold.
